Last week I was a bit slack on the blogging front, so apologies for that. Towards the end of the week, I was a little busy. The clue for that is in the title of this blog post. On Friday evening, me and the lovely Beth went to watch One Direction at their first night at Wembley Stadium performing their 'Where We Are' Tour. It was a pretty amazing experience that I honestly find a little tricky to put into words.
I know they're very much deemed a band for young teenaged girls and therefore as a nineteen year old it's 'not cool' to be a fan, but I love me some feel good pop music. And anyway, I definitely believe their sound is becoming a lot more mature (and sometimes I don't really understand why parents of younger fans think it's okay to let them listen to it — 'Alive' is about sex addiction, c'mon??).
But anyway. It sounds lame, but this band has actually given me an awful lot. Their music makes me happy, and their handsome faces are a nice distraction, especially when I'm experiencing a bit of a low point sometimes. They've made me understand why some people say stuff like 'this band saved my life' or 'this band means a lot to me because it got me through some tough times'. I never fully understood what people meant by that because I've never felt such a connection before. But One Direction have definitely got me through a lot and had me smiling at the dumb things they do on stage (I'm looking at you, Mr. Styles), and just generally being something to focus on instead of thinking about how sad I might be feeling. Does that make sense? Do any of you ever feel like that?
We were in the yellow standing section, and didn't end up joining the queue until about 2pm, so I wasn't expecting to have the greatest view, but we actually ended up really close to the stage at the end of the catwalk. Oh, and 5 Seconds of Summer were the support — does a line up get any better than that? It's just a shame they were pretty limited in where they could move because of their instruments.
So that was a pretty jam packed post. I apologise if you're not into that, but I wanted to share some of my favourite parts that I managed to capture through pictures and videos. It was honestly an incredible evening, and was over far too quickly. I'm experiencing a serious case of post gig depression, and am pretty gutted that Harry decided to appear in the Primrose Hill area yesterday rather than on Saturday when me and Beth were lounging around London desperately wanting to meet him. Never mind, eh? Maybe one day.
