5 Seconds of Summer at the iTunes Festival

2014 is shaping to be a year filled with phenomenal gigs, and last Thursday was no exception to the rule. I was fortunate enough to win two tickets to the 5 Seconds of Summer set at the Roundhouse in Camden and I have to say it was probably one of the best gigs I've been to. It's the first time I've ever been to rock type of concert, and the atmosphere was absolutely insane.

It was honestly such an experience. The Roundhouse is quite a small, intimate venue and — although I was a good few rows back — I still felt so close to the boys. And that in itself was a bonus, because when I watched them support One Direction at the Where We Are Tour, they were so far away. The iTunes Festival gave me the opportunity to really hear them and realise just how talented these four guys are with their wonderful vocals and the rawness in which they play their instruments — which you don't get the full effect of in studio recordings. Charlie Simpson supported them with a forty-five minute set before, which was also really something. Another seriously talented dude who's making his own way in the industry instead of latching onto the McBusted hype (although my sister is still bitter about him leaving Busted in the first place and told me to throw tomatoes at him).

As always, I have uploaded some videos of the gig to my YouTube channel, so take a look if you fancy, and also listen to 5SOS's cover of the Blink 182 song 'I Miss You'. It made me have a serious case of nostalgia hearing that song, and their rendition of it is ace!
