Exploring our new home

Although I've been studying at university for over six months now, I'm ashamed to say that I haven't done much in the way of exploring the more understated locations. Even though I'd visited London on numerous occasions before, I still found great satisfaction in going to all those touristy places. But I want that to change. I want to see all the nooks and crannies of London and come to know it like the back of my hand. What better place to start than the surrounding areas of my campus? So me and Lauren took a nice stroll on Saturday and here is some of the glorious sights and spots we found.

We may or may not have trespassed onto some posh boarding school grounds, but no one told us off or seemed to notice, so I'm going to pray we didn't completely break the law. In our defence, the grounds were glorious and there was this lovely balcony before the gardens that gave us a stunning view of Wembley stadium (although you can only faintly see it in the photo), and I'm pretty certain we could also see the Shard and the BT Tower.

The area is quite built up, so we got to see some terrific views. And then we found this lovely park with lots of fields, and you could literally see for miles. Looking around, you couldn't tell you were in London. We even wondered, when looking out at the view of houses and flat land, where London must stop. It was wonderful for a country girl like myself.

As we headed back, we took a little look around the more high-street like area, and saw some quaint little cafes and seriously majestic looking houses. I definitely felt out of place, because parts of it seem so... rich? But being there made for some decent photos, so I'm not going to think over that too much.
